What are the best finishes on Edge siding?
We are proud to offer factory-prefinished products that eliminate the time and labor commitment of on-site painting or staining. Our siding and pattern lines include painted or stained color options to suit any design. We also offer custom factory prefinishing on other select siding materials through our Prefinished capabilities, which include:
- Armorshell®: A factory-finish applied to Allura™ fiber cement siding. Covered by a 15-year finish limited warranty.
- ColoRISE™: Factory coating technology applied to RISE® composite siding. Covered by a 15-year finish limited warranty.
- ColorStrand®: A factory-finish applied to LP® SmartSide® engineered wood siding. Covered by a 30-year finish limited warranty.
Our finishes use proprietary paint and stain blends to meet our high quality standards for recommended applications. If you are applying a finish to an Edge product, consult with your preferred paint or stain manufacturer for products that perform well on real wood in your desired application.

What are the best primers on Edge products?
Our primed trim products use a proprietary primer that is applied in our factories for excellent exterior performance. We also offer interior primer on our Premium Primed Trim, and all Edge-applied primers are safe for indoor use.
The Timeless Collection uses gesso as a primer to create an ultra-smooth surface on engineered wood boards. There is no need to apply additional primer before painting primed Timeless boards.
If you are applying additional primer or covering natural or prefinished products, use a high-quality primer rated for your application.
